PETER M. SCOTT, III, has been Executive Vice President and Chief

joining Progress Energy he was President at Scott, Madden & Associates,
Inc., from 1983-2000; he was Assistant to Executive Vice President ‘
Carolina Power & Light Company, Inc. 1981-1983; Principal/Partner (last
position) ‘ Theodore Barry & Associates, Inc. 1977-1981 and Manager ‘
Scott Lumber Company, Inc. 1972-1975. Mr. Scott has an MBA from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Business
Administration, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
