Paul M. Dougan

PAUL M. DOUGAN is President and Chief Executive Officer of Equity Oil
Company. He has spent his entire career with Equity Oil Company,
starting with the company as an Exploration Geologist in 1961. Mr.
Dougan was elected a Director of the company in 1992, and after serving
as Corporate Secretary and Manager of Corporate Development since 1969,
became President and CEO in January 1994. Mr. Dougan and members of his
extended family own 11% of the stock of the company. A native of Salt
Lake City, Mr. Dougan earned a BS degree in Geology from Stanford
University in 1959, and later completed the Executive Program at the
Stanford University School of Business Administration. During his career
with Equity, Mr. Dougan has been involved in every phase of the business
including exploration geology, well site supervision, oil shale research
and development, corporate planning and corporate administration. Mr.
Dougan serves as a Director of Leucadia National Corporation and is a
member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Society of
Petroleum Engineers, AIME, and Independent Petroleum Association of
America.
