Normand Balthazard

NORMAND BALTHAZARD is President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of
BioCapital Investments LP. Mr. Balthazard possesses a wealth of
experience in biotechnology corporate finance and has enjoyed
considerable investment success with both private and publicly held
businesses. Mr. Balthazard received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in
1978 from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Montreal, Canada. A
director of numerous private and public firms, he has played a key role
in the start-up of 20 different companies and assisted several of them
in securing initial listings on stock exchanges. Over the years, he also
has formed an extensive international network of financial and business
advisors who contribute their talents to the decision-making process and
support the companies in BioCapital’s portfolio. In 1996, Mr. Balthazard
was honored with the Armand-Frappier Foundation award in recognition of
his contribution to the biotechnology sector in Quebec and he also now
sits on the Board of Directors of the foundation. He is a member of the
International Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Mr. Balthazard is
also a Board member of the Quebec chapter of the Canadian Multiple
Sclerosis Society.
