Noel Goutard

NOEL GOUTARD is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Valeo since
1987. In 1993, Goutard was nominated ‘Manager of the Year’ by weekly
magazine ‘Le Nouvel Economiste’ and in 1998, he was nominated ‘Man of
the Year 1997’ by the weekly magazine ‘Le Journal de l’ Automobile’.
Prior to Valeo, Goutard was a Member of the Board and Chief Executive
Officer of Thomson S.A. (1983-1986); Member of the Board and Chief
Operating Officer of Chargeurs S.A. (1976-1983); Chief Executive Officer
of Compteurs Schlumberger S.A. (1971-1976); Chief Executive Officer of
Gevelot S.A.- Paris (1966-1971); Director, Africa of Pfizer Inc.- New
York (1962-1966); and a Financial Analyst at Warner Lambert, Morris
Plains, NJ, U.S.A. he is also a Member of the Board of Alcatel Alsthom
since 1997 and is Officier dans l’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur. Mr.
Goutard was educated at Lycee Louis le Grand ‘ Paris and Paris and
Bordeaux University law Schools. He is married and has two children.
