Michael D. Loberg

MICHAEL D. LOBERG joined NitroMed, Inc., in 1997 as Chief Executive
Officer and currently leads NitroMed’s management team as President and
Chief Executive Officer. In 2003, Dr. Loberg oversaw and led NitroMed’s
successful initial public offering. Prior to his joining NitroMed, Dr.
Loberg was President of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s (BMS) Oncology and
Immunology division, where he successfully generated significant
increases in sales and profitability. Dr. Loberg also served BMS as
President of its Primary Care division, President of Northern Europe and
President of Specialty Pharmaceuticals. Before joining BMS, Dr. Loberg
held an appointment as an Associate Professor of Medicine in the
Medicinal Chemistry and Medicine Departments at the University of
Maryland Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine. Dr. Loberg is on the Board of
Directors of Advanced Magnetics, Inc., Kereos and Inotek Pharmaceuticals
Corporation. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors of the
University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. Dr. Loberg earned his BS in
Chemistry from Trinity College and his PhD in Chemistry from Washington
University in St. Louis.
