Michael C. Gilliland

MICHAEL C. GILLILAND has been the Chief Executive Officer of Wild Oats
Markets, Inc. (‘Wild Oats’) since founding the company in 1987. Since
that time, Wild Oats has grown into North America’s second largest
natural foods supermarket chain, with 52 stores in 12 states and British
Columbia, operating under the trade names of Wild Oats Community
Markets, Alfalfa’s Markets, Capers Markets and Oasis Fine Foods
Marketplace. Prior to becoming a natural foods retailer, Mr. Gilliland
completed his B.A. in English at the University of Colorado in 1980.
Mr. Gilliland is the parent of nine year old twins and resides in
Longmont, Colorado with his wife Elizabeth Cook, Executive Vice
President of Wild Oats Markets, Inc.
