Matthew P. Smith

MATTHEW P. SMITH has been with PECO II, Inc. since 1989, and in June
2001 he was appointed Chairman of the Board. He has served as President
and Chief Executive Officer since 1998. From 1996 to 1998, he served as
Secretary, Treasurer and Executive Vice President. Mr. Smith has been a
Director since 1994. He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Purdue University.
