Mark Tomkins

MARK TOMKINS is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at
Vulcan Materials Company in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to joining Vulcan
in January of 2001, he held senior financial positions at Great Lakes
Chemical Corporation, Allied Signal and Monsanto. Mr. Tomkins is a
native of Illinois and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where
he received a BS degree in Finance and Management and an MBA. He is a
member of Financial Executives Institute (FEI).
