MANNY VILLAFAA is the founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of
the Board of CABG Medical, Inc. He has more than 37 years’ experience in
the medical industry. Mr. Villafaa founded ATS Medical, Inc. in 1987 to
develop, manufacture and market a next-generation pyrolytic carbon
bileaflet mechanical heart valve, and served as Chief Executive Officer,
Chairman and Director since the company’s inception through May 2004.
Prior to ATS Medical, Mr. Villafaa served as President and Chairman of
St. Jude Medical, Inc., a company he founded to develop, manufacture and
market a pyrolytic carbon bileaflet mechanical heart valve. Mr.
Villafaa also served as President and Chairman of Cardiac Pacemakers,
Inc. (now a division of Guidant Corporation), a company he founded to
develop, manufacture and market a new generation of lithium-powered
pacemakers.
