Malon Wilkus

Malon Wilkus is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Capital, Ltd. American Capital has $52 billion in assets under management and – both directly and through its global asset management business – originates, underwrites and manages investments in middle-market private equity, leveraged finance, real estate and structured products. Mr. Wilkus has also been the Chairman of European Capital Limited, a private equity and mezzanine fund, since its formation in 2005. American Capital and its affiliates invest from $5 million to $300 million per company in North America and from 5 million euros to 100 million euros per company in Europe. Mr. Wilkus is also the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Capital Agency Corp. (AGNC), a real estate investment trust (REIT) formed in 2008. American Capital Agency invests exclusively in agency securities for which the principal and interest payments are guaranteed by a U.S. government agency or a U.S.-government-sponsored entity. In addition, Mr. Wilkus is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Capital Mortgage Investment Corp. (MTGE), a real estate investment trust formed in 2011. American Capital Mortgage is a REIT that invests in and manages a leveraged portfolio of agency mortgage investments, nonagency mortgage investments and other mortgage-related investments. Mr. Wilkus is the Chairman of American Capital, LLC, an alternative asset management company and a portfolio company of American Capital, Ltd., American Capital, LLC, that manages three private and two public funds. Mr. Wilkus has served on the board of over a dozen middle-market companies in various industries.
