M. Nixon Ellis

M. NIXON ELLIS, PhD, jointed Trimeris, Inc. as Executive Vice President
and Chief Business Officer in March 2000. Prior to joining Trimeris, Dr.
Ellis served as Founder and Director of Triangle Pharmaceuticals, Inc.,
a biopharmaceutical company from July 1995 until February 2000 and
President and Chief Operating Officer from September 1995 until February
2000. From 1983 to 1995, Dr. Ellis held various positions at Burroughs
Wellcome Co., a multinational pharmaceutical company most recently
serving as Global Brand Director, HIV/Retrovir at the Wellcome
Foundation Ltd. and Assistant Director, Division of Virology. Dr. Ellis
received his PhD. degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia
and his MBA from the University of North Carolina.
