Julie M. Van Cleave

JULIE M. VAN CLEAVE is Managing Director-Common Stock for Mason Street
Advisors, LLC, a subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance
Company, in Milwaukee. In this position, she is responsible for the
management of several large capitalization growth portfolios, including
Northwestern Mutual’s large capitalization stock portfolio, the
Northwestern Mutual Growth Stock portfolio for the variable insurance
products, and the Mason Street Growth Stock Fund. Ms. Van Cleave joined
the firm in 1984 as a senior common stock specialist and was promoted to
investment officer in 1989. In 1988 she instituted the NML foreign
equity portfolio, Northwestern Mutual’s large capitalization stock
portfolio, managing it until 1992. In that same year she was named
Manager of Northwestern Mutual’s large capitalization stock portfolio,
in 1994 the Growth Stock Fund, and in 1997, the Mason Street Growth
Fund. Ms. Van Cleave was also previously employed as an investment
analyst at Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance, Minneapolis. She earned an
MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in finance,
investments and banking (MBA in 1983, BBA in 1981). In addition, she was
a member of the Applied Security Analysis Program at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Ms. Van Cleave is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Ms.
Van Cleave serves on the Board of directors for the Siebert Lutheran
Foundation as well as the Milwaukee Achiever Program (an adult literacy
organization), and is a Girl Scout Leader.
