Joseph F. Waterman

JOSEPH F. WATERMAN joined Sanchez Computer Associates, Inc. in August
1992 as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. In 1999, Sanchez’s Board
of Directors appointed Mr. Waterman President and COO. In his role, Mr.
Waterman oversees the operation and management of Sanchez’s Product
Management, Education Services, Custom Design and Consulting, Project
Services, Client Services, Human Resources, Technology, Quality
Assurance, Legal and Finance departments. In January 1999, while still
CFO, Mr. Waterman was named one of the top five CFOs in the eastern
United States by TechCapital magazine. Mr. Waterman is currently leading
the Sanchez effort to transition the company from a successful developer
of banking application systems to a leading provider of end-to-end e-
banking solutions for top-tier direct and Internet banks. The effort is
paying off as Sanchez and its e-PROFILE subsidiary have provided the
technology and operational tools in support some of the more successful
Internet and direct bank launches of the last two years, notably
WingspanBank.com, Citibank’s Citi f/i, ING Direct Canada and X.com.
Prior to joining the Sanchez management team, Mr. Waterman spent 13
years with Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., a significant shareholder of
Sanchez. During his tenure with Safeguard, he held numerous operating
and staff positions. As a Safeguard Corporate Vice President, Mr.
Waterman was involved in numerous acquisitions and served as a Financial
and Operational Advisor to various partnership companies. During his
Safeguard tenure, Mr. Waterman’s management, financial and operational
expertise was called upon to provide management leadership for Safeguard
partnership companies. In 1986, he was Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer for Machine Vision International, a publicly traded
high technology systems company. In 1987, he was involved in the
formation of CompuCom Systems, Inc., a national computer reseller. Mr.
Waterman served as CompuCom’s Vice President and CFO and he orchestrated
CompuCom’s acquisition of Computer Factory. A graduate of St. Francis
College in Loretto, PA., Mr. Waterman began his career in 1973 with
Touche Ross and Co. He is on the Advisory Board of Archbishop Carroll
High School and also serves as a Cabinet Member of the Philadelphia
Chapter of the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the United Way. Mr.
Waterman is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.
