JOHN SCHNATTER, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Papa
John’s International, created the Papa John’s concept in 1983. The
company earns high praise from consumers as well as respected national
business and industry publications. For four years running, Papa John’s
has received the highest quality and customer satisfaction ratings among
national pizza chains in the prestigious Restaurants & Institutions’
Choice in Chains consumer survey (1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000). Past
awards include the 1998 National Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the
Year in the Retail/Consumer Products category and 1998 Silver Plate
recipient (Operator of the Year) in the Chain Fast Service category by
the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association. Most recently,
Mr. Schnatter was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans for
2000 by the National Jaycees Organization, and was inducted into the
Louisville Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame.
