John R. Ing

John R. Ing joined Maison Placements Canada, Inc., in February 1985 as President and CEO. With more than 40 years’ experience in the investment industry, ranging from investment banking, financial analysis, portfolio management and sales, Mr. Ing has also spanned a broad range of dealers, from the largest, fully integrated investment dealer to his own institutional investment boutique. He started his career with Jones Heward & Company in Montreal as a portfolio manager and joined Mead & Company in 1971, culminating as Senior Vice President and Director. In 1980 Mr. Ing joined Pitfield Mackay Ross as a Vice President and Manager of the investor services department. When Pitfield merged with Dominion Securities, Mr. Ing became a Vice President of that firm, where he was also a member of the investment strategy committee. Mr. Ing is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts, former President of the Chinese Canadian Investment Professionals, and he is a member of the Toronto Mineral Resources Analysts group, and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has written numerous articles for various financial publications, appeared on television, radio, and given numerous speeches on gold and gold investments.
