John L. Nau

JOHN L. NAU III is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Silver Eagle Distributors, L.P. Under his direction, Silver Eagle
has become one of the nation’s largest distributors of Anheuser-
Busch products and Houston’s number one beer distributor. With
over 600 employees and offices in Houston, Conroe, Cypress and
Rosenberg, Silver Eagle distributes Anheuser-Busch and Modelo
brand products throughout the Houston area. In 2001, President
George W. Bush appointed him to a four-year term as Chairman of
the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. He also serves as
the Chairman of the Texas Historical Commission, a position
appointed by the Governor of Texas that he has held since 1995.
Mr. Nau’s commitment to service is apparent through a broad
spectrum of participation in civic, community, and philanthropic
organizations. His involvement includes Board of Directors of the
Greater Houston Partnership, Board of Trustees of Baylor College
of Medicine, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil
War Preservation Trust, Charter Member of the Monticello Cabinet
– Charlottesville, Virginia, Texas State History Museum Advisory
Committee, Greater Houston Preservation Alliance Advisory Board
and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Mr. Nau is a 1968 graduate
of the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts
in History. Currently, he serves as Vice President of the College
Foundation of the University, and most recently served as
Chairman of the College of Arts and Sciences Campaign. He has
also served on the Board of Managers of the Alumni Association.
