Jeffrey Rice

JEFFREY RICE has been President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director
of Comtrex Systems Corporation since 1989. Comtrex is a systems
integrator and software development firm that provides information and
control systems to restaurants, both table service and quick service.
The company’s products combine in-store controls with enterprise-wide
network communication, using open architecture hardware platforms and
software. Comtrex stock trades in the Nasdaq Small Cap market. In
October of 1997, Comtrex purchased its English distributor, and has seen
revenue growth of over 50% since that acquisition. Mr. Rice has over 20
years of highly successful experience in the management of companies
that market software and computerized equipment to the food service
industry. Before joining Comtrex, Mr. Rice served as President and CEO
of SEBRN Corporation, where he was instrumental in negotiating a joint
technology development venture with Pepsi-Cola. Prior to his SEBRN
association, Mr. Rice was the founding President and CEO of MICROS
Systems Inc. in 1977, as well as the systems architect of its original
product line. During his seven years with MICROS, the company grew from
an engineering startup to achieve annual revenue levels of $26 million.
A graduate of the University of Virginia with a BSEE degree, Mr. Rice is
married, and has four children.
