Jeffrey M. Jonas

JEFFREY M. JONAS, M.D., President and CEO of AVAX has extensive
experience in pharmaceutical development, including the areas of
biotechnology, pharmacoeconomics, psychopharmacology as well as the
acquisition and development of new cancer, antibiotic and immunological
drugs. From 1994 to 1996, Dr. Jonas was Vice President of Clinical
Development and Chief Medical Officer of Upjohn Laboratories. From 1991
to 1996, Dr. Jonas held positions at the Upjohn Company as Vice
President of Worldwide Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs, Director of
Psychopharmacology and Vice President of Clinical Development. Dr. Jonas
is the author of a book on Prozac (TM) and over 100 scientific articles,
abstracts and book chapters. Dr. Jonas received his M.D. from Harvard
Medical School in 1979 and a B.A. in Biology and English from Amherst
College in 1975.
