James A. Shepherd

JAMES A. SHEPHERD is President and Chief Executive Officer of Slocan
Forest Products Ltd. He graduated from Queen’s University in 1974 with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has been
employed in the forest products business for over 20 years in both
Ontario and British Columbia. The bulk of his association was with
British Columbia Forest Products Ltd. and subsequently Fletcher
Challenge Canada Ltd. Mr. Shepherd was formerly President and Chief
Operating Officer, Crestbrook Forest Industries Ltd. until the merger
with Tembec Inc. Mr. Shepherd joined Slocan Forest Products Ltd. as
their President and Chief Operating Officer in 1999 and as of July 1,
2000 is President and Chief Executive Officer.
