Israel Makov

ISRAEL MAKOV has been Chief Operating Officer of Teva Pharmaceutical
Industries Ltd. since January 2001. He was Executive Vice President with
Teva from 1995 to December 2000. From 1993-1995 Mr. Makov was General
Manager with Gottex Models Ltd., one of the world renowned ladies
swimwear and beachwear designing, manufacturing and marketing companies.
From 1991-1993 he was President and CEO of Yachin Hakal Ltd., one of the
leading agro/food processing companies. From 1987-1991 he was Chairman
and Founder of Axiom ICF Capital, Inc. USA/Israel, a registered
investment banking firm specializing in Israeli-related transactions
with offices in Tel Aviv and New York. From 1986-1987 he was an
independent consultant, Israel, represented foreign investors and
provided consulting services to various companies in Israel and abroad
in the healthcare and chemical fields. From 1979-1985, he was with
Interpharm Laboratories Ltd. (I.P.L.) Israel, as Founder, President and
CEO and formed First Biotechnology Company in Israel; he formed a
partnership with the Weizmann Institute and the Technion Foundation, as
well as a joint research project with Hadassah Medical Center. The
company went public in the US two years after forming; from 1974-1979,
he was Business Manager (Chief Operating Officer) for Abic Ltd. Israel,
second largest pharmaceutical company in Israel during that time; from
1967-1974, Citrus Marketing Board of Israel-Europe; 1970-1974 Manager of
Scandinavian Region-Copenhagen; 1967-1970 Head of Economic Department-
European Headquarters; 1966-1967, Ministry of Agriculture Israel,
Economist; and from 1963-1965, Hebrew University-Jerusalem, Israel,
Research Assistant. Mr. Makov has a BSc in Agriculture from Hebrew
University-Jerusalem (1963) and an MSc in Economics, Hebrew University-
Jerusalem (1965).
