George Rathmann

GEORGE RATHMANN is currently Chairman, President and CEO of ICOS
Corporation and Chairman Emeritus of Amgen, Inc. He served as Chairman,
President and Chief Executive Officer at Amgen from its inception in
1980 to October 1988 and Chairman from October 1988 to July 1990.
Before joining Amgen, Mr. Rathmann was Vice President, Research and
Development, Diagnostics Division, of Abbott Laboratories, which he had
joined in 1975. Previous experience included Litton Industries, as
President of Litton Medical Systems, Inc., and the 3M Company.
