GEARID M. FAHERTY was named Chief Executive Officer of Eurand in April
1999 and has served as the Chairman of the Management Board since June
2000. Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Faherty served as the
company’s Managing Director while it was owned by American Home
Products. Before joining Eurand, Mr. Faherty was the General Manager of
Fort Dodge Laboratories in Ireland, which is a subsidiary of American
Home Products. Previously Mr. Faherty has held various positions at
subsidiaries of Sterling Drug and Pfizer. Mr. Faherty received a
Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Galway in Ireland and
holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, which
he received from the National University of Ireland.
