FREDERICK WILLETTS III, (RICK) – Education: New Hanover County Public
Schools, attended University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, graduated
from Guilford College (B.A.-History) in 1972. Graduate School of Savings
and Loan, Indiana University, 1982. Military: U.S. Coast Guard –
1969-1970. Joined Cooperative Bank for Savings (formerly Cooperative
Savings and Loan Association) in 1972 as a Management Trainee. Currently
serving as President and Director (elected to Board 1976). Professional:
Current: Vice-Chairman North Carolina Bankers Association, Thrift
Institutions Advisory Council-Federal Reserve Board, Director-America’s
Community Bankers, Member-Legislative Committee, America’s Community
Bankers. Previously: President-Southeastern Conference, U.S. Savings and
Loan League 1985-86, Vice-Chairman-Legislative Committee, N.C. League of
Savings Institutions, Member-Legislative Committee, U.S. Savings and
Loan League, Director-NC Alliance of Community Financial Institutions,
Director-Community Bankers Association of North Carolina. Awards: 1991
