EDSON R. ‘TED’ ARNEAULT serves as President and Chief Executive
Officer of Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort, located in
Chester, West Virginia and President, CEO and Chairman of the
Board of Directors of MTR Gaming Group, Inc. MTR’s wholly-based
subsidiaries include Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort,
Speedway Casino in Las Vegas, Inc., and Speakeasy Casino in Reno,
Nevada. Mr. Arneault became CEO of Mountaineer in 1995, taking
Mountaineer from a $5.2 million operating loss in 1995 to an
operating profit of $34.9 million in 2000. A Certified Public
Accountant, licensed in Ohio and Michigan, Mr. Arneault earned
his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bowling
Green University, his Master’s of Arts degree from Wayne State
University and his Master’s in Business Administration from
Cleveland State University. A tax partner with Seidman and
Seidman (now BDO Seidman), he also previously served as Vice
President of Broadview Financial Services, a savings and loan
holding company in Cleveland, Ohio, and as a Tax Consultant with
Arthur Andersen & Co. After leaving Seidman and Seidman, he
formed and operated many proprietary companies, ranging from
steel processing, land development and a retail jewelry chain in
Louisiana and Florida. In 1981 he formed the predecessor
corporation for Century Management, Inc., of which he serves as
President and CEO. Mr. Arneault serves on the Board of the West
Virginia Hospitality and Tourism Association; is a member of the
Robert Morris College Hospitality and Tourism Management Board of
Visitors; and serves on the Board of Directors of the Center For
Excellence in Workplace Education. He is a member of the West
Virginia Business Roundtable, a select group of business leaders
dedicated to promoting economic development in the State of West
Virginia. He recently was recognized for his leadership and
vision by being selected by the State Business Journal as one of
eight outstanding business leaders in the state of West Virginia
in 2000.
