Sidney W. Emery

DR. SIDNEY W. EMERY, JR. is Chairman, CEO and President of MTS Systems
Corporation. Dr. Emery was elected Chairman of MTS in January 1999 and
has been Chief Executive Officer and President since March 1998. For the
four years previous to that, Dr. Emery served as area Vice President for
Honeywell, Inc. for Western and Southern Europe. From 1985 through 1993,
he held executive division and group level positions in Honeywell’s
Industrial Controls and Avionics businesses. From 1978 to 1984 he worked
at Bendix Corporation in Engineering and Manufacturing positions. Dr.
Emery served in the U.S. Navy and reached the rank of Lt. Commander with
a final assignment as special assistant to the Secretary of the Navy. He
received a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy
and Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Industrial Engineering from
Stanford University.
