Robert J. Dow

DR. ROBERT J. DOW became Chief Executive of Scotia Holdings Plc on
1January 1998 having joined the company four months earlier as its
Medical and Development Director. Prior to joining Scotia, Dr. Dow was
Worldwide Development Director for Hoffman-la Roche in Switzerland and
had earlier been vice President of Syntex Research Centres until its
acquisition by Roche.
