Carl Von Gablenz

DR CARL VON GABLENZ is Chairman of the Executive Board of CargoLifter
AG, a project which he co-initiated and whose activities he has co-
ordinated since its inception. After obtaining his doctorate in Legal
Studies (1982), Dr von Gablenz worked in the financial and corporate
advisory divisions of the Bayerische Regionalbank, before switching in
1986 to the mechanical engineering division in the industry sector,
where he was responsible for finance, administration and inventory
management. In 1993-94, he accepted a visiting professorship in the
department of logistics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel
Hill, where along with other projects he developed the logistics theory
for a new freight transport system. Dr von Gablenz is married with three
sons and one daughter.
