DOUGLAS H. HANSON is Chairman, CEO, & President of Internet Commerce &
Communications, Inc. Since his arrival at Internet Commerce &
Communications (formerly RMI.NET) at the end of 1997, the company has
increasingly grown from a regional ISP to a nationally recognized
commerce solution provider (CSP). Mr. Hanson came to INCC from Colorado-
based Qwest Communications Co., where he served as President and CEO and
was the Founder of Qwest’s predecessor, SP Telecom. Under Mr. Hanson’s
leadership, the company pioneered the Co-Lo facility concept, joint
fiber utilization and was successful in selling a portion of the Qwest
Dark Fiber System to Global Crossing and GTE prior to his departure. In
addition to his corporate successes, Mr. Hanson is Chairman of the
Competitive Telecommunications Association (CompTel) a communications
industry trade association). He actively lobbied for passage of the 1996
Communications Act and is currently an active proponent of Cable Open
Access. In addition, Mr. Hanson serves on The Metropolitan State College
Foundation Board, Colorado Commission on Science and Technology and the
Salvation Army Advisory Board among other civic activities. Before
founding SP Telecom, Mr. Hanson was Vice President of FiberTrak, a
communications joint venture of SP Railroad, Norfolk Southern and Santa
Fe. Mr. Hanson received degrees in Business Administration from Glendale
College and California State University at Los Angeles.
