Douglas E. Smith

DOUGLAS E. SMITH is Chief Executive Officer of InvestAmerica Inc. and
the operating companies Optica Communications Inc. and Zed Data Systems
Corp. Mr. Smith was a co-founder of the latter company in 1980, which is
a value added reseller of data communications equipment. He also has
experience as President of Pacific Bancorp Inc., a venture capital and
merchant banking company. He previously was a partner in a law firm. Mr.
Smith has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the University
of Calgary and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British
Columbia. He is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
