DIDIER TRUCHOT, Chief Executive Officer and co-Chairman of the IPSOS
group, was born in 1946 in Boulogne, near Paris, France. After
graduating in Economics at the Sorbonne University, he entered IFOP in
1969 as a research executive. In 1972, he joined the IRSEC institute as
a Research Director, before setting up IPSOS in 1975, a company
specialised in media and advertising effectiveness research. With the
arrival in 1982 of Jean-Marc Lech, then IFOP’s CEO and Chairman, IPSOS
started measuring public opinion. Since then both Didier Truchot and
Jean-Marc Lech have been leading the IPSOS Group’s development in France
and abroad. Twenty years after its creation, IPSOS has become one of the
ten largest research institutes in the world. Didier Truchot has
published several books: Affiches de Pub (Ed. du Chne), Films de Pub
(Ed. Gallimard) and Le Dictionnaire de l’Opinion (Ed Romillat) written
in co-operation with Jean-Marc Lech. He is married and has four
children.
