Diana H. Pliura

DIANA H. PLIURA is the President and Chief Executive Officer and
a Director of DELEX Therapeutics Inc. She has over 20 years of
experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and venture
capital sectors. Dr. Pliura is the founding CEO, having served as
the Company Creator for the Eastern Technology Seed Investment
Fund Limited Partnership. Previously, she served as an Advisor to
MDS Capital Corp., a Canadian venture capital firm investing in
the life sciences sector. As Vice President of Research for
Hemosol Inc., Dr. Pliura was instrumental in developing the
technology for advancing the pre-clinical and clinical
development of Hemolink, a blood substitute product.
Additionally, as Head of the Division of General Biochemistry for
Syntex (Canada) Research, she was responsible for the initiation
and advancement of numerous drug discovery programs. Dr. Pliura
is a co-inventor on seven issued US patents and is an author on
numerous peer-reviewed articles. She received her Doctoral degree
in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and completed her
post-doctoral training at Harvard University.
