DAVID STEINBERG is the Founder and CEO of InPhonic Inc. He was
recognized as 2002 Entrepreneur of Year by Ernst & Young and named by
Telephony magazine as one of the 10 telecommunications executives who
would spearhead the industry’s resurgence in 2002, Mr. Steinberg has an
accomplished background in founding and operating successful companies.
In 1993, he launched Sterling Cellular and grew the company into one of
the largest distributors of wireless products nationwide. Under his
leadership, Sterling’s revenue grew more than 500 times in just over
five years. Leveraging his extensive expertise in the wireless industry,
Mr. Steinberg founded InPhonic in 1999 to provide end-to-end wireless
solutions to Internet businesses, affinity groups and large enterprises.
After InPhonic launched operations in 2000, generating multimillion-
dollar revenue in less than six months, Mr. Steinberg was named one of
the top 40 rising stars of the Capital-Area business community by
Washington Business Forward magazine.
