David Kalkbrenner

DAVID KALKBRENNER currently serves as President, Chief Executive
Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Greater Bay
Bancorp, a financial services holdings company with $8.5 billion
in assets and eleven subsidiary banks, headquartered in Palo
Alto, California. He has served in this capacity since the
Company was formed in 1996. Mr. Kalkbrenner is also a member of
the Boards of Directors of ABD Insurance and Financial Services,
Mid-Peninsula Bank and San Jose National Bank, subsidiaries of
Greater Bay Bancorp. He was a founder of Mid-Peninsula Bank in
Palo Alto and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer
when the bank was chartered in 1987 and served in this capacity
until March 1998. He was employed by Crocker National Bank from
1963 to 1986. From 1981 to 1986, he served as Regional Vice
President of Crocker National Bank’s Peninsula region, with
administrative offices located in Palo Alto. In addition, he is a
former director of the College of Notre Dame, Palo Alto Chamber
of Commerce and the Community Association for Rehabilitation
Services, and has been involved in many other community
organization over the past twenty years.
