Chuck Buffum

CHUCK BUFFUM, CEO of Vocent Solutions, Inc., oversees the
management of the total enterprise, providing strategic vision,
technical direction and general leadership. Prior to Vocent, he
served as Director of Systems Engineering and Integration for
Nuance Communications. his experience at Nuance (the industry
leader in speech recognition software) also included work as the
Director of Enterprise Channels and Partners. These roles allowed
him to play an active role in the development of many of the key
companies in the voice-enabled space. His industry expertise,
technical knowledge and industry relationships make him a key
member of the Vocent team. Prior to joining Nuance, Mr. Boffum
spent seven years at Tandem Computers, where he started their
call center business, established a suite of solution sales
programs and became the Director and General Manager of Tandem’s
Decision Support Business Unit. Prior to Tandem, he worked for
IBM for 12 years in a variety of sales, management, technical
support and product management positions, culminating in the
creation and management of IBM’s Call Center program. He is one
of the authors of IBM’s CTI patent.
