CHRISTINE P. FARKAS is the Director of the Equity Research
Department at Merrill Lynch. She joined the firm in 1994 as a
Special Situation Analyst with Merrill Lynch Canada and in 2000
joined the company’s newly formed Energy Technology Group.
Previously a ranked Chemicals and Special Situations Analyst, she
moved from Toronto to New York in 1998. She has since received
numerous other professional honors, among them: ranked as a part
of Canada’s number one Special Situations Team 1998, 1999,; named
a 1999 Best Up-And-Comer, Chemical/AG (Institutional Investor);
number three Chemical Analyst, number one written research
quality, Canada (Greenwich Survey) 1999, 2000; number three
Chemical Analyst, Canada (Brendan Woods Survey) 1999, 2000;
number one Merrill Lynch Power Technology Team (Greenwich Survey)
2001. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Ms. Farkas was with
guardian Capital Inc., where she was responsible for high net
worth asset allocation projects. She received a Bachelor of
Commerce degree from McGill University and holds her Chartered
Financial analyst (CFA) designation.
