Carl J. Domino

CARL J. DOMINO – For over twenty years as a portfolio analyst and fund
manager, Carl Domino has compiled a remarkable record of success that
has earned him industry recognition and close, long-term relationships
with major investor clients. In 1966, Carl Domino received a B.S. degree
(Cum Laude) from Florida State University, majoring in accounting. He
then began his career as a Staff Accountant with Arthur Young & Company
in Atlanta, Georgia. His service in the U.S. Navy included a tour as
Assistant Planning Officer, Naval Support Activity, Saigon and Inventory
Control Officer, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville. In 1989 Carl retired
as a Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. In June, 1972 he received an
MBA from Harvard Graduate School and joined Delaware Management Company
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a Portfolio Analyst for the Decatur
Income Fund. He managed the Delchester Bond Fund and the Delaware Fund.
In 1975 Carl was asked to help found Delaware Investment Advisers, which
became the institutional side of Delaware Management Company. Carl
became a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1977 and was named Senior
Portfolio Manager at Delaware. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed
Chairman of the Investment Strategy Committee, which directed eleven
portfolio managers and over one hundred client relationships. During his
twelve year association with Delaware Investment Advisers, the assets
under management increased from one million dollars to over ten billion
dollars. He founded Carl Domino Associates, L.P. in 1987. Given Carl’s
excellent reputation among institutions, growth has been strong. Over
one billion dollars is now managed for clients such as Champion
International, Howard University, the Knight Foundation and the State of
Florida as well as for a number of wealthy families. As one of the
investment industry’s leaders, Carl has been quoted in the press, is
regularly interviewed by the Wall Street Transcript and appears
frequently on the Public Education Channel’s Inside Money program. Carl
has lived throughout the United States, traveled widely, and enjoys
reading and golf. He participates in many local community organizations
and is actively involved in several alumni programs at FSU. He is a
member of the Palm Beach Economic Council and serves on the board of the
Jupiter Medical Center. He is a trustee of the FSU Foundation and served
as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Seminole Boosters in 1995.
