BERNARD V. TEW is Principal/Chairman of Q.E.D. Investments. He has
developed a range of volatility based quantitative equity products
designed to outperform passive equity benchmarks, such as the S&P 500.
Dr. Tew’s expertise is in portfolio theory and applications, linear and
non-linear mathematical programming applications, Bayesian statistical
theory, stochastic calculus, and general operations research modeling.
Dr. Tew holds a BS degree in General Science and Business from Purdue
University, an MBA from Indiana University and a PhD in Applied
Economics from the University of Georgia. Prior to the formation of the
firm, Dr. Tew served as Principal/Director of Research and a founding
member of the Quantitative Equity Division of Weiss, Peck & Greer, LLC.
He was responsible for the design, formation, and management of the
quantitative equity portfolios. He has also served as Co-Director of
Research for the Eden Financial Corp., and as a faculty member for the
Departments of Finance and Agricultural Economics of the University of
Kentucky and Colorado State University. Dr. Tew has published numerous
articles in national finance and economic journals.
