Bernard Jacques Couillaud

BERNARD JACQUES COUILLAUD is the President and CEO of Coherent, Inc., a
position he had held since 1996. Also an Educator and Researcher in
Physics, Mr. Couilland has had over 65 papers published and 4 patents
granted in Physics and Laser Technology. Before joining Coherent in
1983, he held Professorships at Stanford University and the University
of Bordeaux, France. He has provided communications to 46 scientific
meetings and taught classes on Laser Physics, Quantum Electronics and
Spectroscopy. He received a Master of Science degree in Physics and a
Ph.D. in Microwave Spectroscopy from the University of Bordeaux, France
in 1968.
