JOHN TOALSTER graduated from the LSE in 1963 and became a university
lecturer in Economics initially at the University of Sierra Leone and
later at the University of Dundee in Scotland. He joined Mobil Oil as a
corporate planner in 1969 prior to becoming a senior oil analyst at
three different stockbrokers in the City of London in the 1970s.
Thereafter, he worked in Kuwait for four years at KIIC managing the
Corporate Finance department before running the Banking department. In
1983 he was appointed Head of Equity Research at Montagu Loebl Stanley
prior to becoming Head of Oil and Gas Research at Hoare Govett. Since
1990 he has been a Director of Oil and Gas Research at SG Securities. Profile
