Gordon Black – Harris Interactive Inc (hpol)

GORDON S. BLACK, PhD is the Chairman, CEO and Founder of Harris Interactive, Inc. In 1975, while a tenured faculty member at the University of Rochester, Dr. Black founded the Gordon S. Black Corporation, one of the predecessor companies to Harris Interactive. In 1996, the Gordon S. Black Corporation purchased Louis Harris & Associates from the Gannett Corporation and then converted both firms into Harris Black International, Ltd. In 1999, Harris Black International became Harris Interactive, now a pioneer in Internet research. Dr. Black has a 35-year history of conducting national and international studies on behalf of corporate clients and media companies. From 1986 to 1993, Dr. Black served as the unpaid Research Director for the Partnership for a Drug Free America, presenting research results twice at the White House. He has authored or co- authored more than 20 articles in professional journals, covering a wide range of topics in survey research. Since 1995, Dr. Black has spent much of his time lecturing on the uses of the Internet for marketing and social research. Dr. Black received his Doctorate in Political Science from Stanford University after completing his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis. Profile
