West Shell – Netcentives Inc (ncnt)

WEST SHELL, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, is an advertising and marketing veteran with more than 20 years experience in sales promotion, direct marketing and packaged goods branding. As an Account Executive at Grey Advertising in New York, he was instrumental in shaping such Procter & Gamble brands as Downy Fabric Softener and Joy Dishwashing Liquid into household names. From there he moved on to the client side of the business, leading the marketing efforts for Johnson's Baby Shampoo at Johnson&Johnson. In 1983, Atari recruited West to save their ailing consumer electronics division. Mr. West was co-founder of the Pacific Marketing Group, a San Francisco-based sales promotion and direct marketing agency. At PMG, he was essential in developing effective integrated marketing campaigns for clients. Under his leadership, PMG grew to become the largest independent marketing firm on the West Coast. Eventually Mr. West sold PMG to D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles and renamed the company Highway One Communications. He has served as CEO of Netcentives since August 1997. Profile
