Li-pei Wu – Gbc Bancorp (gbcb)

LI-PEI WU is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GBC Bancorp. He also held the position of President from 1982 to 1998. Prior to joining GBC Bancorp, he served as President of Alaska National Bank of the North from 1980 to 1981. Mr. Wu held several other positions with Alaska National Bank of the North, including Chairman of the Executive Committee, 1978-1979, and Chief Administrative Officer, 1979-1980. He also held various positions with the National Bank of Alaska, including Vice President and Controller from 1973 to 1976. Mr. Wu served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at National Bank of Alaska between 1976 and 1978. Mr. Wu was also an instructor at Kwanglon Business School in the fields of economics, accounting, and money and banking. He worked at Changhwa Commercial Bank and was also a financial consultant. In 1998 he was awarded 'The 1998 Greater Los Angeles Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.' He is the current Director of Pacific Coast Banking School; a member of Pacific Counsel of International Policy; and a member of the Asia Society as well as being on its Board of Advisors. He received his BA in Economics from National Taiwan University and his MS in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
