Joseph Bronson – Applied Materials Inc (amat)

JOSEPH R. BRONSON assumed the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at Applied Materials in January 1998. He was also promoted to Senior Vice President, and to the Office of the President in January 1998. As CFO, Mr. Bronson is responsible for the financial management of Applied Materials and in the CAO role, he oversees company operations. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Bronson became President of the Etch Product Business Group in February 1996. He had been Group Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing Operations since April 1994. From November 1990 until March 1994, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Applied Implant Technology Division in Horsham, England. Before rejoining Applied Materials, Mr. Bronson was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Stardent Computer Incorporated from May 1989 to July 1990. In July 1990, he was appointed Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at Kubota Pacific Computer, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kubota Corporation, Inc., which became the successor corporation of Stardent's West Coast operations. Mr. Bronson was the Corporate Controller at Applied Materials from 1984 to 1989. Before joining Applied Materials, he held several management positions in the Fairchild Camera and Instrument Division of Schlumberger Limited, and at The Singer Company. He received his BS degree from Fairfield University, Connecticut, and his MBA from the University of Connecticut.
