WILL GARRISON has been with American Freightways since 1986 and serves
as Chief Operating Officer. He has 12 years of motor carrier management
experience. His initial duties with the company included writing PC-
based rating programs for customers and leading the areas of customer
accounts and human resources. Mr. Garrison has been directly responsible
for the operations functions since August 1996 and continues to be
responsible for them as well as the human resources function (which
includes human resources, people development, communications and
quality), the physical assets function of the company (which includes
equipment maintenance, properties and corporate travel functions) and
the marketing function (which includes marketing, sales pricing,
