DR ELLIOT GOLDSTEIN is the Chief Executive of British Biotech Plc. Dr Goldstein, Canadian by birth, graduated in 1972 with a BSc in genetics from McGill University, Montreal. In 1979 he received his MD from the Faculte de Medecine D'Aix-Marseille, France. In 1980, Dr Goldstein joined Sandoz Laboratories in France and over the next 14 years held positions with them in France and Switzerland. In 1988 he moved to the United States to head Sandoz's US clinical research. In 1994, Dr Goldstein joined SmithKline Beecham to head Worldwide Strategic Product Development, a post he held until joining British Biotech as CEO in September 1998. Profile
