Donald L. Triggs – Vincor International Inc (vn.to)

DONALD L. TRIGGS is the President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Vincor International Inc., the largest and leading vintner in Canada and the fourth largest wine producer in North America. The company markets such well-known brands as Caballero de Chile, L'Entre Cote, Notre Vin Maison, Jackson-Triggs, Sawmill Creek, Inniskillin, L'Ambiance, Entre-Lacs, Spumante Bambino, Growers Cider, VEX Alcoholic Lemonade and Canada Cooler. The company owns and operates 161 wine shops under the Wine Rack name. A marketer at heart, Mr. Triggs got his start at Colgate-Palmolive in product management. After rising through the marketing ranks, he managed John Labatt's wine businesses in Canada and then in the U.S. In the 1990s he managed the North American and ultimately global horticultural business of Fisons PLC. Mr. Triggs led the management team that negotiated a management buyout of John Labatt's wine interests in 1989. Mr. Triggs has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from the University of Manitoba and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Triggs is active in several professional associations including the Canadian Wine Institute where he is past Chairman and the Public Policy Forum where he was a founding Director. He is a former Director and Chairman of the Ontario Wine Council. He is presently on the Advisory Board for Western University's Ivey School of Business and is also on the Board of Trustees of Brock University. For the past five years, Mr. Triggs has served as a Director and is past Chairman of the Board of AboutFace, an organization which assists those who are facially different. He is a member of the Ontario Chapter of XPO, World Presidents' Organization, and Chief Executive Officers Organization. Mr. Triggs was recently awarded the title of Commandeur d'Honneur du Bontemps de Medoc et des Graves. His hobbies include gardening, especially roses, wine-related antiques, wine collection, art appreciation and collection, hiking, skiing and travel. Mr. Triggs is married and has three daughters.
