James Middlehurst – Dorling Kindersley Holdings Plc (dkn.l)

JAMES MIDDLEHURST has been Chief Executive Officer of Dorling Kindersley since 1998. From 1993-1998, he was Managing Director of Britannia Music (Polygram), where he created three new successful businesses, Continuity Video; Ireland Club and Britannia Gold - Easy Listening Club. He rescued the Brit Awards and Gramophone Awards, now the largest and most successful awards shows in Pop and Classical music. In 1989, he joined Allied Irish Banks as Head of Marketing, after having spent two years as Retail Marketing Director of Magnet Plc. From 1981 to 1987, he was head of UK Operations at Time Life Books. Mr Middlehurst started his career as a Sales and Marketing Trainee at Proctor & Gamble. He is married and lives in the UK with his family. His interests are his family, golf, tennis, reading and chess. Profile
