GERRY GOULD is Director of Investor Relations for The Stanley Works. He
has responsibility for communications with the financial community,
including institutional and individual investors. Mr. Gould oversees
preparation of the company's annual report, financial news releases and
presentation materials and he represents the company at analyst and
investor conferences. Mr. Gould is a member of Stanley's Corporate
Executive Council, the senior management group comprised of the CEO and
all functional and product group heads. Since joining Stanley in 1996 as
the company's first-ever investor relations professional, Mr. Gould has

Stanley Works just to set the stage for the readers?
Mr. Gould: It's hard to do a quick history. We're 158 years old. I
