ERIC GRIES joined XACCT Technologies Inc., in February 1998 as President
& CEO. Prior to joining XACCT, Mr. Gries was the General Manager of the
Network and Systems Management Division, at Compuware Corporation, a
global software company. Mr. Gries was a key contributor in formulating
Compuware's Applications Management strategy and led his organization to
a substantial growth. One of his products was announced as the fastest
growing product for Compuware. Before joining Compuware, he was the Vice
President of Product Marketing for ACI, Ltd. At this publisher of
database development tools, Mr. Gries oversaw the company's entire
product marketing activities. This included strategic positioning,
messages and pricing. Mr. Gries worked closely with the corporation's
6,000 Independent Software Vendors to streamline ACI's product
offerings. He also developed the organization's Internet and Intranet
strategy. Software Engineer by training, Mr. Gries started his 15 years
voyage in the high-tech industry by working at Cullinet Software. Later
he joined Digital Equipment Corporation in a Product Marketing role. Mr.
Gries received his B.S. and MBA from Northeastern University in Boston,
