JAMES K. MURRAY, JR. currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of HealthPlan Services Corporation. Mr. Murray began his career
in 1956 as a life insurance agent and became a life member of the
Million Dollar Roundtable. In 1970, Mr. Murray was one of the founders
of a company that is today HPS, and in 1978, the company was acquired by
The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation. Mr. Murray continued his career with
D&B and in 1989, he assumed the position of President of Dun &
Bradstreet Credit Services. He also served as President of the Reuben H.
Donnelley Corp., a publisher of telephone yellow pages, from March, 1990
until August ,1991, and as its Chairman from August, 1991 until
December, 1993. In addition, he held the position of Corporate Senior
Vice President of D&B. In 1993, Mr. Murray retired from Dun & Bradstreet
and, with other financial partners, acquired HPS from Dun & Bradstreet
in 1994. In May, 1995, HealthPlan Services became a public company and
today is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Murray continues to
serve as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HealthPlan
Services, Inc., a company headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with more
than 3,000 employees in more than 60 locations in the United States.
HealthPlan Services serves as a third party administrator for both small
groups and large groups, represents a large number of insurance
companies, HMOs, PPOs, and integrated delivery systems, and has
delivered products through agents for more than two and one-half
decades. Mr. Murray is married and has three children and eight
